Ready or not…

We’re finally ready to tell the world we’re having a baby!

Our little peanut is set to arrive on Feb. 8. Everything is going really well so far, and that is a great relief to me. The baby has actually been so active that doctors have had a hard time getting a good picture. I think I’m in for a lot of kicking soon.

I wish I could say that I was one of those lucky women who didn’t experience morning sickness. But the nausea and fatigue I’ve been having the last few weeks has really knocked me down. Despite everything I’d heard about the first trimester being really hard, I wasn’t expecting to feel as badly as I did. This pregnancy thing is not for wimps!

I have a lot to say about this whole process so far, but I need a little more time to put my thoughts together. For now I’ll just say that we’re happy as can be.

Congratulations! We are so excited for you. The thing that worked best for my morning sickness was for Pat to make me breakfast in bed. It really helped to get something into my stomach before I got up and about. I had the same reaction as you…you hear about how difficult the first trimester can be, but don’t believe it until you experience it. The morning sickness does go away just keep that in mind. Hope you are feeling better soon!

Congratulations to you both! That’s such exciting news!

Have you ever heard of Sea Bands? They are super inexpensive and can be used to help curb morning sickness. I know a couple people who swear by them.

Sadly, sea bands never worked for me. The days I felt the best were when I was most distracted with other things, so staying busy seemed to be key. And naps. Lots of naps.
